How to access passenger side front speaker - 2013

Hi Everyone!

First time poster, long time viewer. Great forum.

Need a little help. Replacing the speakers in a 2013 Unlimited. I was able to take most of the dashboard apart and access the driver's side speaker. However, there is a bolt or two that I am missing in order to pull the passenger side dash out far enough to get access to the passenger side speaker. Scanned over the sticky and didn't see an answer to my question.

I have removed the glovebox, the window switches, the passenger side access panel, and the few bolts I see behind the glove box. Of course the bolts are still removed from the driver side all the way down to removing the instrument panel (that's what it took to get the dash to pry far enough forward from the driver speaker).

Anyone know how to remove the dash for the passenger side on the 2013's? I don't see the same bolts that are listed for a 2011-2012 dash.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

if you are removing the right dash pad it is part of the SRS system. You will need to know how to handle the air big system. The mounting bolts to the metal box that contains the airbab has a bolt that is IN the right side Defroster vent. Pop it out, about middle of the air vent the hidden access panel there is a 10mm bolt that holds the rear of the air bag box. the other two are up above the glove box you removed.

Ok. So I realized the best way to do this is to remove the two gold screws on the right side of the speaker box and then one from underneath on the left side of the speaker box (not a gold screw) and the box will "loosen" enough to access the screws holding in the speaker to the box. Hope this helps for anyone searching the forum and not seeing the screws in the same place on your 2013 as in the 2012 models.

Thanks for the response 222Doc. I would not have tried this approach without you pointing how just how difficult it would be to actually pull the dash away from the speaker box for access.

i was looking at a weld in cage that would be in dash, need the removal off most the dash, and changing a few things . Once you know were the bolts are its rather simple and not many bolts/screws its mostly snap together like Lego. I'm talking both sides too. Surprised that no one just walks away with them.
