I currently have a black 2000 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0L V6. I love my jeep and i was recently offered because of circumstances to trade mine in for a new 08 Rubicon. Are the new jeeps all that they're supposed to be, or would it be smarter to just build on what i have now. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Love it, Love it, Love it! The engine is a bit weaker and not a lot of low end torque. But, the wheel ability is great and it's very comfortable for a DD. Even trade? Can you still get lifetime warranty?
I can tell you I took my stock Unlimited Rubicon that I have had for maybe 2 weeks and managed to hang very gracefully with lifted, locked TJ's and YJ's yesterday. Even did some trails with it that 2 other rigs turned around on. I even made a section easley that made a 2 YJ's roll.
Big difference. New and old are completely different. Especially that 4.0ltr V-6 you have in your 2000. Most people liked the inline 6 a lot more. You might want to pop your hood open and take a look at yours.
I was in the same situation about a month ago and i went with the new jeep. I almost cried to watch my tj go but the jk's are about the only thing that i would trade for, it is definately worth the jump.
