thanks for the photo upload

I think this is going to work out fine ,its easy to put on and i have not found the balace spot yet as that day was threatening rain.
Next is to locate that spot and give it a go.
Now i can remove the top myself .Took me about 4 hrs to drill and bolt together, and it postively locks on at the front ,the bolt does show how the front part locks on to the jeep roof, thus it cannot slip

Very creative. Nice job! I screwed 2 eye bolts into the studs in my garage ceiling and use about 6 tie down straps to remove mine. I have 2 straps hanging from the eyes and then 2 on each side from front to rear of the top. They connect in a triangle to the 2 straps hanging. I simply pull down on the 2 hanging from the ceiling to raise the top one side at a time until it's high enough to drive out from under it. Been workin like a charm! :tea:

Good deal! Thanks! We have a 2011 on the way with the painted top... I'm really concerned about handling it and not scratching it. Have been looking at the automatic hoists but yours sounds like it works just as well for 1/4 the expense...

:D You can buy a RACOR HD Hoist from Costco/Amazon for about $100 bucks and never scratch the top--easy lift and will support 250lbs

I've used it once to remove my top and now it holds the fishing boat and little duck floater

It comes with all the rigging you need, then buy 4 vinyl hooks and move forward !!

You guys w/ the Racor, do you leave your top hanging there?? Do you trust it not too fall?
