Had something wierd happen today (electrical)

While driving today my 07 JKU acted like it turned off then back on instantly. What I mean is the radio shut off then back on and I noticed all my dash lights came on for just a second....just like when you start the car. The engine didnt appear to shut down. There is lightning in the air today although i dont see what it matters. I did just get gas earlier. There are no codes stored.

Anyone have this happen or any ideas? Going on a road trip next week. Kinda nervous now.

How old is your battery? It may be time for a new one. The JK computer get's very twitchy. You can also check the corrosion on your terminals.

Battery is a little over 2 years. No corrosion and terminals are tight. I will have the battery tested.

It's probably your alternator. This same thing happened to me for years in my 2000 TJ, and when the alternator was replaced it never happened again. I do believe there is a JK thread on here as well with the same issue and it was fixed with an alternator replacement.

I had the battery and alternator tested today at 2 different stores and both said everything is good. I checked for loose ground connections and can't find anything. Going to continue driving and see if/when it happens again.

This is what I am leaning as well. Appreciate the input thus far. Going to drive it for another couple of weeks and see if the problem comes back. Will most likely put an alternator in shortly.

I don't wanna freak you out, however, have you considered that you may have a decepticon? GM is transformers apparently. So keep an eye on it.

On a serious note lighting could affect it I suppose. If all seems well, no warning lights and it drives fine than could just be lots of static in the air. Wouldn't take much to cause interference. Have a pats store plug in a OBD and see if anything comes up. Doesn't always show on the dash
