H D Battery

Will a Delco high capacity battery intended for plow trucks fit in stock location in a 2007 Wrangler?

What BCI does the plow truck use?

Link to a list of BCI group dimensions.

Only while USING that extra capacity - such as winch, etc - but that draw would be there even without a high cap battery - the high cap just gives a larger reserve before you're fully riding the alternator - thus reducing the alternators work load/duty cycles. The 140 in a Jk will charge it... it handles my two RV battery set quite well. But if seriously cycling it (such as constant winching - savior upon the hill duty, or welding, refrigerator or other high draw) then it may need a 220.

I run an XS Power D7500. XS Power makes the best batteries ever. The D3400 is a great battery as well.

FWIW I run a Mechman Alt as well to power it all.

how about a Optima yellow, Odyssey whatever it is or the die-hard Platinum (which I think is an Odyssey).

WOW, that's a huge battery at 100LBS, and a very huge price tag.

Had an Optima in my Vette. Thing died on me, real dead and couldn't be brought back. Read up on it because I was suprised because of everything I had heard about them. Bad reviews made me change over to a Die-Hard, which is basically an Odyssey. Have the Die Hards in the Jeeps now. My GF has lets her run dead more than acouple times. Has always come back. No complaints.

I agree on the optima ran one in my street/drag car not very good dependability or reliability IMO, most of the time if it has dual terminals ( side and top post) you only get about 75% power from the top post. I made the switch to the Batteries Plus Xtreme X2 AGM battery in my old TJ, never had any problems even with 1000w stereo and aux. lighting.

Yea the Sears diehard Platinum is a very good battery. Both the Odyssey and the DieHard Platinum are manufactured by EnerSys Corp. Both have the same specs, however the Platinum has a better warranty and a lower cost.

Optima batteries suck. Made in Mexico, piss-poor quality. We have them at work for our forklifts and they are total junk. Seems like we're replacing them every 6 months or so. Unfortunately, our "purchasing" department doesn't see the benefit of buying better batteries. Not my $$$.

I know, a stupid question. Have you measured the battery tray on the jeep? How does it compare to the battery you want to install?
