Grip Tape decals

Morning Fellas,

I have a newbie question, I am slowly working on blacking out my 08 4DR Sahara, I keep reading post and I saw a Rubicon Hood with grip tape decals...I am thinking on doing the same to the side decals of mine. You know replace the wrangler and sahara decals with grip tape (the exact design). I have a friend that can do cut outs by laser. But I am wondering if you guys know if I can buy these decals already made of grip tape or have to but an extra pair and duplicate them with grip tape.

PS. I have to keep the sahara name since the wife likes it....

Thanks

E

Tracing paper makes your template, then go buy a couple sheets of grip from the local skateshop. Make it yourself man. Thats toooo easy.

Brent_f70 did this with the Rubi stickers on his AEV hood.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f96/aev-hood-finally-done-but-worth-wait-582105/

Came out exceptionally good, but he found a shop to cut it for him. I don't think I could cut it that clean.

Funny how this goes around.....Just last week a guy on the other forum asked me for the contact info for the company that cut them. Anyway...glad to say that the stickers are holding up EXTREMELY well. I still have the full set of spare ones in my garage. Every now and then I have to clean out the threads of a terry cloth towel that got too close but I have figured out that I can take it to the local pressure washer and hit the decals directly with the spray to remove cloth or wax residue without any fear of the decals coming off.

....Erick, glad you like the idea and after a year on my Rubicon I can saw with complete certainty that the stickers hold up very well!!

By the way that company now does grip tape in other colors!!!

I'd like to talk to the company that did your grip tape sticker. May want to replace my Rubi logo. Can you supply me their name?
