I have a Garmin 205W and really like it. Has a nice big screen for my old eyes and usually gets me where I want to go.

If you want to avoid dead zones in W Texas, N Mexico, Colorado or Utah, just ask me. I found all of them.

how? I have had many TomTom's and aside from the 30 day latest map guarantee, they charge to update map.

You can update the TomTom's software, but the maps are not free.

No. Most phones now use A-GPS, which is assisted GPS. The assisted means it's using cell towers to get your location to find satellites faster, but that's it.

You can use th GPS remotely on a cell phone.

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

Nope, phones now have a GPS reciever that is exactly like the one in a handheld GPS and you download the maps BEFORE you go so you don't need a signal. Backcountry Navigator will also trace a trail IIRC.

I had a Garmin 205 in my wife's car and bought another Garmin 205W which ended up in my wife's car and I got stuck with the old one. But it works great for a sub $100 GPS. You can get them cheap at Best Buy.
