Gotta love that Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

Julia and I were headed down to Morgan Hill today to get some provisions for the weekend. Got on the 101 and noticed the Jeep was not shifting out of 1st gear and the check engine light came on. Got off the freeway, shut off the engine and waited a few minutes. Started it back up and headed home, still in 1st gear only. Reverse works as well. When I got home I plugged in my Bluetooth OBDII unit and turned on Torque Pro on my SIII.
Code P0870. Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "C" Circuit.
Called the dealer.....yep it's covered, as is the leaking axle bearing seal on the driver side rear. It's going to be towed in on Tuesday.
I'm never selling this wrangler. This warranty is fantastic.
Cheers

How many miles were on the vehicle when the transmission failed? I wish the newer models had the lifetime powertrain warranty. As I recall that changed in about 2009 or 2010. No more lifetime warranty on the latest models. It is sort of scary but I have just under 40,000 miles on my 2010 JK.

I got my 08 Tranny (6 spd) rebuilt about a year ago under the LT PT warranty. Can't beat it. I agree with you, I'll be buried with this Jeep! I'm not saying I won't buy another one (Probably will ) but I just can't see giving this one up. Where else can I get a warranty card that states the warranty expires at 999,999 miles or 2091-03-27?

They wont warranty ur vehicle
after a million miles? They should buy u a new one if u manage to get that many miles out of ur jeep. Ive heard of a ford truck hitting that mark.

My 5-year maintenance is a year away. I wonder what it is going to cost? Probably $500 at the dealership.

One of my former co-workers had an XJ with over 600,000 miles on it. The vehicle would have survived to 1,000,000 miles but neither he nor the previous owner took good care of it.

I'm hoping I outlive the warranty period!

You can get a life time warranty now for the JKU. I have a 2014 with the Max Care Lifetime warranty.....covers everything the Max Care warranty does for the life of the vehicle. I plan on keep it for a LONG time so this made sense to me.

Max Care Lifetime warranty sounds like a good deal. I wish that I could get it, but my employment is uncertain for the months ahead. I plan to keep my JK a long time. The first 4 years of ownership have passed quickly, and now fully loaded new Rubicons cost nearly $40K. It looks like I might be driving this one for 10-15 years.

We've all heard it and we all know that if you mod your jeep the warranty doesn't cover what you have modded and in many cases the dealer can and has voided the entire warranty claiming what you did caused the problem. I'm well aware of the Massey act but that hasn't stopped them from doing it.

Warranties are Great if you have a Great dealership working with you. I have a Great dealership. They warranted my 05 LJ auto tranny at 48k miles and my jeep was modded. They didn't say a peep when they replaced it. Cost me $100

The dealer makes all the difference in the world. My dealership has changed hands several times but I've always got great service and treatment from them. I was worried when I took my 08 in 3 weeks after the dealership sold. Not a problem.

So i guess that wouldnt be a bad thing if you had a lifetime warranty and chrysler pays for the rebuilds. So is it a true 3 million mile car? U can make almost any engine last forever if you keep rebuilding it or replacing it. same with any other part of the car.
