Gears from 2010 fit 2012??

Want to know if gears from my 2010 will fit in a 2012. Both JKU Sports...

Sport/Sahara: D30/D44 JK, yes gears are interchangable.

Yes. However if they are 4.88 or higher numericaly, then you'll need a programmer like the AEV Procal or you'll go into limp mode within a few miles on the 2012.

WTF!?!? Why would throwing in new gears mess up the computer?

I should have been more specific - only the auto trans will go into limp mode. The new for '12 A580 trans has a separate trans controller, that will not take the gear ratio change without re-programming. It will for some reason allow a big tire change without any problem.
