Future rust problems

I hand washed the new jeep today and because I live in Chicago I was searching for possible rust areas. One that sticks out is right behind the front tires. There's a gap between two panels just below the plastic inner fender well. Looks like a place where rocks and salt will be caught and cause major problems.

Anyone have any issues with rusty on JKs?

You could remove the fenders and undercoat it. I usually peel that liner back and flush it out whenever I wash the Jeep.
