I had the filler spout from a fuel can shed a piece of plastic about 4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and it stuck in the filler neck. Tried to retrieve it. OOPS it got away and fell out of site. In the tank. Anybody know if there is a way to access the tank, maybe through a fuel pump access, to retrieve it. Perhaps it will do no harm in there but I'd rather get it out. Thanks for any advice.
Only way I know of is to drop the tank, and pull the fuel pump. You might get lucky and just have to pull the filler neck rubber adapter. Either way should get you there.
Just pull the whole filler tube off and turn it upside down and get it out. Just takes a few minutes to take the filler tube off. Just a couple of hose clamps.
Wilgeno and 222Doc share the prize. Got lucky with a wire hook. Thanks. I didn't think of trying it myself because I was unaware there was something like the anti roll valve to stop it prior to entering the tank itself. Voila!
Thanks to all of you. It was indeed an easy fix. Freaked me out when it happened.
