Fixing an Alloy Rim?

A quick question for all you in the know Jeep owners. I recently purchased my new 08 Sahara, and during my "walk around inspection" with the dealer I noticed a gouge in the front passenger rim. After MANY follow ups about what they are going to do about it, the finally told me to bring it in as they have somebody that is going to repair the rim. Is this normal? In all honesty it is not that bad until the rim gets dirty then it makes a big black line on the rim, then it is noticable. I thought they would replace the rim, but they are choosing to "fix" it. If it is not perfect what kind of recourse do I have? Thanks in advance.

It's new. I would push them to give you a new rim.

I figured that I would let them try and fix it, and if there is any sort of mark or discoloration from the repair I would make them replace it. We shall see.
