i just purchased a 06 Wrangler, and was wondering if an 98 hardtop would fit my 06?

You own a TJ, not a JK. This is the JK section of the forum, from now on you should try to post in TJ section to speed up replies A 98 hardtop should fit fine.

In theory it should fit, though in 03-06 the vents on the hard tops were moved to the tailgate (you have vents on your tailgate) and in 97-02 the vents were on the hardtop. I don't see it causing a problem. Though I'd look for a 03 or newer hardtop.
