Final HP Figures for RIPP Supercharger Kit
Hi guys, as some of you may remember we’ve been getting ready to launch our Supercharger Drive System for the JK since 07. I know it’s been some time since we've posted solid updates on our supercharger kit but For the last year RIPP has road tested its system over all conditions available.
Winter thru summer
• Off road Trail, mud and crawling
• On road both Highway and City
• Towing
We've accrued data under all conditions so far we've managed to keep the check engine light off the entire 23000miles of testing. More importantly our electronics do not interfere with the fly-by-wire Throttle-body and the traction control system. The gains are very impressive and given that we've done all our testing through factory manifolds, cats and exhaust finding better gas mileage over all condition.
Official WHP for our Stage 1 kit is
• 243whp with 250lb/ff-tq with 31” tires (Stock)
• 215whp with 220lb/ft running 35” Tires on steel wheels
Considering the factory power is:
• 148whp and 150lb/ft-trq 31” tires
• 127whp and 127lb/ft-trq 35” tires
It’s a considerable upgrade for the price and install time, the air/fuel and EGT’s are perfect under all conditions with the power feeling extremely linear or factory. It’s not intrusive in any way and it easy to modulate both on and off-road.

At $4k + , I can think of other things that will be just as beneficial. Also your biggest gains are in the higher rpm range. Gears definately come to mind and at $3k less, I'll do that.

Or better yet do both....
RIPPMODS, what gears were you using on both of your 35's dyno tests??
My JK has 5.13 and at 6000 miles it feels like the power is improving, maybe I am just getting use to it though.....ANYWAY an extra 100hp does peak my interest.
Great job on the development and testing of this JK accessory!!

Thank you
We have and we confident that this is one of the best options out there as a power adder, gears alone simply do not compare.

Take a close look at the sheets and you'll see the gain is consistent throughout the gears a good... but the engine still doesn't have a great power band, the blower fills that gap in nice.

We have 5:13 in ours also and the gears alone don’t compare, there is more power to be had throughout the entire RPM band. With the charger in place it’s easier to drive, getting onto the highway and maintaining highway speed or getting through traffic. When your off road the power is easy to modulate so you find yourself lead footing it much less to get through mud or sand. If you do any sort of towing it’s a must.
Yes but it won’t matter this is not a “car” the converter lock up is different so we record power from lock up. We have a Eddy current Dyno and it actually loads the tires as though you are on the road accounting for wind resistance and atmospheric correction as well.

Your gears make a big difference in your #'s. That poor guy that has 3.21 or 3.73 thinking he will get that much increase is going to be dissappointed.
Not at $5k+ for both.

Yesterday I stopped by Avenger Superchargers and their set up is a roots style super charger. The guy took me for a ride in the store rig. That thing was sweet. 2007 JK Unlimited on 37's with 5.13's and of course the supercharger. That thing pulled hard though the whole power band and only pushing 4 PSI. I see a supercharger in my future.

I would bet you won't be dissappointed but you won't get the gains the tester did. Just remember a super charger is not a solution to improper gearing because of bigger tires. Supercharger makes HP, gears get HP to the rear wheels.

man I would love to get my hands on a SC, I would rather have a roots type but if the price is right I dont really care. Im just glad companies are starting to make them so when I get my 37" rubbers I can get the SC also. Those are pretty nice figures, espessialy if you take into account they havent touch any stock exhaust/intake and didnt even use a chip. I bet 300whp is duable with a little help. I swear by FI ever sense I had a WRX, its soo much more efficient I cant believe diesals are the only ones that have figured it out.

People have since this was first introduced repeatedly asked for some numbers for the lower rpm's.
Since you obviously do not want to tell us, we must then deduct that those numbers are embarrassing to you.
This system is designed for street use, not for a jeep.
Stop beating around the bush and come out with the numbers.
Your continued effort to avoid answering the questions of low rpm power does not induce confidence in your company or your product.

And people wonder why I am so negative towards these and other hp increasers. They are all designed to work at high rpms. I don't drive at high rpms.

Power at low RPM's is related to torque which comes from engine displacement. There is NO subsitute for cubic inches.....my experience anyway
