Thats incorrect. I'm almost certain that maryland law is that the fenders have to cover the entire width of the tread. I know i'v read before that no more than the width of a US quarter (so about an inch) past the fenders. That said, mine stick out about 3 inches and I have yet to be hassled. However, I know several people that have been pulled over for it and I know you can't pass MD inspection unless the fender covers the width of the tread.

Jon, I would be inclined to think that even though your registered in GA, your vehicle still has to meet MD requirements when operated within the state. I don't mean to be a buzz kill but you may want to call state police and ask them. Your JK looks good with the fenders off but I'm not sure you'll be able to drive around MD fenderless and not be stopped. Lets hope I'm wrong

In my searching I found this interesting bit about GA lift laws Couldn't find anything about fenders though

Yeah, I know that about GA.... They have a lot of laws like that but they definitely do not enforce them... All the chevy's driving around GA on 44's and up tells me that.... About MD, Im pretty sure that me being a soldier that has a home of record in GA, a GA drivers license, and all that Jazz I should be pretty good to go... But if worse comes to worst then I will simply throw the flares back on, I already ordered the clips to do so if that is what it comes to.

I LIKE IT! best part is that from the side, if you were standing oh say 20 ft away, you wouldn't know it was fenderless because of the paint... looks nice

Holy crap, great thread guys, tons of good.

Militaryman, I really like the painted grill. Is it regular matte black paint or some kind of textured/protective product? I have been seriously considering doing this myself to help prevent a large hole in the plastic.

Terrahawk, somebody else already asked this, but I never saw an answer. What kind of rear corners are you running? Those things look amazing.

thx man no, no problems to date and ive been like that for over two years. no probs on or off the trail they are also covered in REALLY thick rubber. they were also the cheapest thing they had at kragen or autozone....i think it was kragen. lol you can pick them up at harbor frieght for like, $15 bucks i think? they're not really bright but they're perfect for low speed crawls at night.
