ESP and turns….

Yesterday I had a really “interesting” experience with my JK (08 sahara)… while taking a turn (not a sharp one and with not more than 60 Km/h) the ESP light came on and the car started braking in order to “get grip” when I got back on the highway the ESP light was on (as the ESP was disabled). Well I ignored it, enable ESP again and said to myself that probably the car “slipped” due to water or something on the road that I didn’t see…
Next turn exactly the same thing, tires, shocks and springs are brand new (3’’ lift), it has just been serviced, no water or anything else on the road… I don’t know if it is a pre-DW behavior but does anyone else experience that?
And it only happened on turns; intentionally I went over a small bump with 110-120 km/h but no DW… went home checked bolts and they all look tight enough…
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help

I had this problem with my 2007 and it ended up being a bad wheel sensor according to a shop.

New lift? ESP trouble? You need to do an alignment on your front. Check out the JK FAQ.

I had an alignment! and not for the stock JK's, I gave it for a wheel alignment and the guy added on the laser measurements in front of me the 3'' additional height...
so i don't think it's that... thanks for the answer though!

as for the sensor... it happened on different direction turns... is it possible to lose both front sensors?

thanks again

The steering wheel alignment. If the steering wheel is not straight with the wheels, it will trip your ESP and cause other problems. I tested this when I lifted mine just to see what would happen and sure enough, the ESP came on and the Jeep started pulling to the right, hard. Neighbors thought I was drunk

Is your steering wheel perfectly centered when your tires are straight?

Virtually always caused by axle misalignment side to side, which affects the steering wheel & clock spring relationship. A simple way to determine your axle centering is to use a tape measure and measure the distance between the outer side of the frame and the inside of the tires. Pick a spot that's the same on both sides, no brackets, etc. to corrupt the measurement. Same with the tires, move the rig so you won't be measuring lettering, side lugs and otehr junk. The measurements should be within 1/8" side to side. Measure and corect the rear first, then do the front. After you get the rig centerd over the axles, adjust the steering wheel to be perfectly centered on a flat, uncrowned road. For measuring points I use a spot on the frame, right under the rear the front spring bucket. In the rear I use a spot right in front of the bump stop. These spots are identical side to side, with no interference. There are other ways to do the measurements but this is the simplest and will get you close enough.

Thanks for that! really appreciated
I will try to check and if that doesn't fix the problem I will move to the sensors.

checked that with the help of a friend... everything seems ok and that is the troubling part... maybe it is the ABS/ESP sensors but i don't know any other way to check them except from taking it to the dealer...
additionally it hasn't done it since...
