Erbos JK Build

Alright well this will be my build thread on my new to me jeep wrangler. It is a 2008 6 speed and I LOVE IT! I dont have anything really done to it yet I have just been enjoying driving it. I have the bug bad though to mod this thing... there is so much aftermarket support for these jeeps its overwhelming! The purpose of this thread will be to share my experience with this awesome machine and if anyone has any advice or input to share please feel free to post.

Right now here is what I have in the plans...

I already ordered a Smittybuilt stinger front bumper...

For lift I am thinking the Teraflex 2.5 bb

A set of soft 8's in the 17x8 or x9 flavor with 4.5" backspace

Wrapped in a 315/70/17 destination mt or an aggressive all terrain still undecided. (I work for Tires Plus so i get discount on all bridgestone and firestone product).

Interior mods wise i want to get some grab handles and get the daystar center console (on top of radio). Also maybe a tuffy lockbox under the drivers seat.

This jeep has to be road worthy as it is my daily driver. If anyone has any other cool mods or recommendations let me know. Here is a pic of my old jeep that I had and my new JK.

Ha ha welcome to the darkside! Sounds like you've got a good idea of the direction you want to take this Jeep. What size gears are in it now?

Its got the 3.73 gears. Dana 30 front dana 44 rear. Ill prob end up regearing at some point. Im in school to be a chrysler tech so i figure once we get to axles and drivetrain it would be a good time to knock that out.

Ordered my cragars last night and tracking says they should be here today! Gotta love living so close to summit racing. Also i picked up my shtinger bumper ill post up pics soon

Got my wheels today but all 4 were scratched and/or dented. Called up summit and they are sending the new ones out tommorow. Awesome company to deal with!

Let me do you a solid, and save you a ton of money...

well the only way to save a ton of money is to SELL YOUR JEEP NOW!

But the next best thing, spend the money on good stuff right out of the gate, so you're not double spending later. 4" currie suspension and 37s, and a set of axles. Just do it. Don't think about it. Seriously, pull the checkbook out right now.

Well i wanted to save some money/ feel out the cragars. I was debating getting an alloy wheel but these were super cheap and i like the look. Ill be ordering the 5th one this week.

Putting 37s under this jeep and swapping axles isnt in the cards right now... It has to stay somewhat road friendly as i drive it errday. At first im going with a teraflex lift and 315 70 17. Then im sure ill regear then later down the road go straight to a long arm setup. I really like the lcog setups maybe 2-4" lift with fender flares. I did the whole piecing together and slowly getting bigger and bigger with my other jeep. Lesson learned im going to do it right when it comes time. I just figure for 300 something bucks it will get me to clear 35s

Guy came into my work with this jeep and i got to talking to him about it. He had no idea whats done to it he just dropped it off to a shop and said make it look cool lol he said it was an 8" lift. Looks more like a 3". Its got a RE lift of some sort with bilsteins 35s LOD bumpers and sliders. They make a stout product i had never heard of them.

Moral of the story it made my jeep look like a wimp which further gave me more motivation to get it lifted. So question is 2.5" teraflex bb or 2.5" re coil lift. Im getting bilstein 5100 shock with whichever lift i get
