Employee Pricing Bs
The asking price for the 09' Jeep I was interested in went UP $500 since Chrysler's Employee Pricing program kicked in today. No wonder why they're going BK. They call that a bargain?

That's why I didn't wait, I bought a new 08 Rubicon Unlimited on Saturday 11k under MSRP @ 0%. Dealer's manager told me I wasn't gonna save any more than that on Monday with the new incentive program. Glad I listened to him.

Yep, I feel very fortunate. Fully loaded too, nav/power dual tops. I did work my *** off though. It was me against the dealerships and my wife... Was very stressful.

employee pricing only really works for people who get it regardless. When they open in up to the public, it's replaces other incentives. It was really good at the end of the year when I got EP plus $2k additional employee bonus cash. Along with the other stuff, I walked out with '08 unlimited x S pkg. for ~$18k

Talked to my buddy who's a salesperson at the dealership where I used to work.
Just for giggles, he priced a loaded an '09 2-dr Rubi for $29K MSRP -$1500 EP. Came out to about $26 which doesn't seem too good compared to others. With 0% APR for 48 or 2.9% APR for 60. That puts my payment to $541/mo. I need it around $450. Eh ... guess I'll wait and save up. If I ever got one, it'd need to be perfect: Jeep Green. 2 door Rubi. Dual tops. Full doors. Power package. Trailer package. Tinted windows. Manual tranny. That should be around 29. I don't really wanna trade in my 99 TJ ... I think i could get $5-7K for it though.

Why not look for a leftover 08? The incentive plan that started Monday had 0% for 48. I went on Saturday and the dealer gave me 0% for 60 on a fully loaded 08 Unlimited Rubicon at $25.5 before tax and tags. He wanted it off the lot!
If you're in no rush you should sell your TJ, one dealer offered me $3000 for mine. Sold it on ebay a week later for $6100.

I too bought my 08 Sahara last weekend. What I did was go to the Jeep website then did a search for 2008 Wranglers by zip code. Only 1 dealer in the OKC Metro showed to have an 08 Sahara Unlimited left (few X's and 1 Rubi). So since that is exactly what I wanted I lucked out. I got it for $6K off sticker after 3 hours of dickering. $2K of it was 08 rebate and $1K was if I financed at my credit union (5.5% for 72mo). So really $3K off or basically invoice plus half of dealer holdback plus my $3K incentives for a total of $6K.
Victim of Pain....congrats to your deal! I am still happy though Nav would have been pretty cool.

The program is good if you are financing and take advantage of the 0% for 48 months. Compared to 5% interest you save $2635 if you finance $25k. Add that to the discount and rebate and it's a good program. The selling price is likely going to be higher than it was last month though because the rebates are decreased on most models. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Funny, they gave me that loyalty thing to because I owned a TJ, although it was sold already... Guys check hadn't cleared and I still had the Jeep in my possesion. All they asked for was my registration.
