Electronic Throttle Control = FAIL

My Jeep has 3200 miles, and my check engine light came on followed by my electronic throttle control and t/c lights. It began jumping when I let it out of park or off the brakes, idles rough and at stupid rpm's in all gears. It takes about 5 miles for all side effects to kick in. It's driveable but I've let it sit for today, taking to the stealership tomorrow to get looked at. Does anyone have any ideas what may have caused this sudden malfunction? It hasn't been on a trail in weeks. Has anyone else had issues with this?

You could try disconnecting your battery for a couple minutes and hooking it back up. Maybe it'll reset something.

Update:

They blamed the Check Engine light on a vaccum leak (fail, CE light never came on until ETC light did), claimed to find no problem. Unfortunatly the problem doesn't have a pattern when it rears its spooky head- so I'm having them keep it overnight and take a prolonged (10+) test drive tomorrow so they can create the problem I am talking about. So far so good, but I have a gut feeling this guy (service advisor) is going to try and **** with me...

Mine done the exact same thing. At 3200 miles also. I called and had it towed in. They replaced the throtle motor and it fixed the problem.

Thank you, if they try and jerk me around I'll bring that up.
