Here is "Sarge", my 2013 JK Rubicon in Commando Green. I am considering this my Stage 1.5 build since it decidedly more than just a budget boost lift and new wheels, but also falls short of a 4" long arm lift and 35+" tires (...someday...). For a daily driver and weekend warrior it fits my needs almost perfectly---almost, because for about 340 days a year it is perfect but the other 25 I wish I had more lift and bigger tires! After all, a Jeep is just a down payment on accessories.

We actually picked up the JK "used" in December 2012 with 1900 miles as the original owner ended up bring it back to the dealer to swap for an Unlimited under pressure from his wife--- making for a great deal for me!

We immediately set our sights on attending the Easter Jeep Safari in March, thus the nearly daily visits by UPS and FedEx began and every free moment and weekend spent adding the lift, bumpers and accessories. All mods were done 100% myself. Even the night before we left for EJS, I was underneath swapping swaybar links. In the end, the trial by trail was successful and I had and absolute blast in Moab and the Jeep obsession is fully entrenched in my blood now. Since EJS we spent Memorial Day Weekend tagging along with the Timber Tamers 4wd Club at the Tillamook State Forest ORV park playing in the mud and rocks. The JK continues to amaze me with where it will go! Unfortunately my wife (aka my spotter) misses out on a lot of it because she closes her eyes through the rough spots!

I started wheeling as a kid with Go Karts, 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. Then I moved onto a 1975 K5 Blazer and into full sized trucks. I moved to Oregon and picked up a brand new stock Rubicon. I wanted to meet some people so I joined a local Jeep club and started wheeling. It just kind of took off from there. At first I wanted a basic BB and 33's, then I started reading the forums. I bought the 3.5" RK and 35's. After it was all said and done I thought the 35's did not look right with the lift so when I came across a Cheap set of used 40's I jumped on them. That shoved me into the rabbit hole. Every thing I've been doing lately is to support the tire choice. Gears, armor, soon to be axles and even more suspension mods. I'm gad I bought the Jeep and have really enjoyed the Jeeping community!

I originally bought this jeep with the intention of towing it behind a motorhome; however, within 48 hours I was bitten with the upgrade bug. Before long, the jeep had consumed the entire motorhome budget and it’s still gobbling any monies not nailed down. My goal is to build an expedition worthy jeep capable of going just about anywhere I point it reliably, safely, and in comfort. So far it’s meeting all my expectations and far exceeding my current capabilities

The Story

To celebrate 25 years of marriage and an empty nest we decided to gift ourselves with a new 2011 JK. We both had jeeps before we married, had jeeps together, and then went Jeepless for a few years to raise kids. We wanted a Rubicon and liked the stealth markings of the COD. We don’t want anything that looks “monster truck-ish” or “hummer-esque” and knowing that we never want a trailer queen or dedicated trail rig, we are intentionally keeping the modifications and upgrades on the conservative side. Our mods were meant to be dual purposed, making it capable off road but keeping it stable and comfortable on road.

Story: Ever since I was a little girl I wanted a jeep. Little did I know I would soon be the winner of the little miss Houston Pageant where the first prize was my very own jeep.

There you have it!
The June Line-Up is another great one
Good luck to all
