Drawbacks of 2inch coil spring lift
I want to take my new 09 Sahara 2 door from 32" tires up to 33"s on custom rims. As I do little off-roading (10%), I don't need a great amount of flexing, just want a bit more beef in the looks department. I thought 2" coil lifts would be a quick and easy way to go. What are the drawbacks to the coil lift? Will it stiffen the ride or change the highway characteristics radically?
Thanks for your comments

I've got a 4 door 07 and if anything it rides a bit softer. More exactly, a little side to side roll. It's barely noticeable and still corners well so no complaints.

Thanks, Voyame... nice ride you have. Enjoy seeing your jeep flexing in the photo. You have a 1 3/4 inch lift? By the way, it seems my 18inch wheel/rubber combo comes to 32 inches or so diameter. Did you go any larger?

DocJake,
Mine are 32s right now and I'm planning on going to 33s when I replace them. I'll need to go to wider rim than stock also. Always thought the stock steeles didn't look too bad with a better tire on them. Rock rash doesn't bother me on these either. |

If you do the lift right, there are no drawbacks.
If you do the lift wrong, you'll keep throwing money at it until it's right...

I'd get a comprehensive lift that eliminates future handling/breaking issues that cheap lifts create.
Check with Prot and he'll tell you about his adventure in Liftland.
