Double Din install for Jk

I just bought a double din touch screen stereo off of eBay. I know how to install it however the actual opening in the dash is not big enough to go over the head unit (the head unit is barely taller than the opening in the dash). i didn't want to cut any plastic in visible areas but it looks like im going to have to. Has anyone else had this issue when installing a 2din?

Try crutchfield. They have vehicle specific bezels to match. Here is an example. They have GREAT customer support too.

I ordered a double din pioneer and after rigging it and having it Half hanging out for a few months I took a drill to the back metal support brace. Mine hit both the back and top but fits good now.

You have to remove the metal bracket in the dash that held the factory radio in. It will give you more room for installation.

Yeah, I've removed the metal bracket in the back with no problem. its just actually getting the head unit through the opening in the dash. I didn't want to cut the dash to make it fit. I measured the opening in my dash and its just shy of 100mm which is the size of a double din. I was just going to try to force it over the stereo.
