Daystar "upper replacement dash" poor fit?

Anyone install this and it fit right? It seems to bind and not lay down compared to the stock piece, I attached the compass module correctly and it is just not fitting right. ('07 Sahara) Is there a trick to this? thanks

Mine went in just fine. Where are you saying its binding or not laying down. It is a little taller I think to make up for the compass on the underside and still have the storage for the top.

I couldn't get mine to fit either. I'm returning it tomorrow.

not laying down

It will only go all the way down if forced, the factory piece just lays down with no effort.

I installed mine last November and it fits perfectly. No problems here!

mine is fine too. Are you sure you are tucking it in enough in the front?

Mine didn't even come close to fitting. I had to relocate the GPS antenna and Dremel the plastic frame that the front of the Daystar part mounts to.

Mine fit perfectly too-- though the only wire I had underneath it was the compass module wire.

Looks like I may have to remove it though, in favor of the stock one, to get my sport cage to fit.

Mine didn't mess up my heading at all. I haven't looked into it in the Jeep, but in my old fords, the manual gave very precise instructions on how to recal the compass. Have you tried that yet?

Mine fits perfectly and I did notice that my compass reading started to not work correctly. Found in the 08' manual <pg 214> how to complete a manual calibration of the compass. My zone was still set to the default of zone 8 instead of 9. Changed, completed calibration and working normally now.
