Dashboard Rattle

I have a rattle in my dashboard, appears to be coming from the drivers side between the center console (radio and temp. controls) and the steering wheel. Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions?

Thanks

I had a similar noise a few months ago and it turns out the rattle wqas caused by a loose rear tightening screw on the freedom roof panel.Once I snugged it up --voila the noise was gone.Noise and rattles travel and can appear to be coming from a place like the dashboard but in fact are coming from another location as was the case with the rattle I had.

hope this helps

Had the same thing but........DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE KNOBS!

Also "thought" I heard a vibration from dash. My wife found it - the driver side sun visor.

It took me a while to figure that one out as well.

Can you deliberate on this a bit further? Which knob/screw did you tighten or loosen to eliminate the rattle?

I had a similar sound and found it to be in the hood of my Jeep. The vent on the outside needed to be pushed into place... it was never pushed hard enough when manufactured to "clip in". I also put nuts on the back of the tie down bars on the hood. They just rattle and pull out... no more rattle (knock on wood).

HELP with Dashboard Noise

Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some help. I have a noise in my dashboard that is driving me nuts. It's random when it occurs. Mostly over smaller bumps but I hear it on occassion when i make a sharp turn. It's almost like a clunking noise - it's not a vibration, it's not a squeak. I hear it predominently on the driver side, but it does occur on the passenger side as well. It sounds like it's coming from inside the dash, closer to the door NOT the middle.

I'm at my wits end and have no clue what it is. I had my mechanic check all the suspension etc, to make sure it wasn't something underneath. He even said it sounds like it's in the dash. I took the side panel off and couldn't see anything. Nothing seems loose when looking up under the steering wheel.

I've had it back to the dealer 3 times. They made it worse the first time and basically don't want to tear the dash apart again, so they blame it on the lift and say they can't help me.

Any ideas!!!!!!! And yes, I know jeeps have rattles, but this is freaking annoying, I can deal with the door pillars, etc.
