If i remember correctly, Dana wanted to rename the axle to Dana 45, but Jeep balked at the idea, because of the name recognition the Dana 44 has. So they kept it the Dana 44

When did you place your order?

I arranged mine (2dr X/S) through the credit union last week, I'm just wondering how far behind you I am.

Edit: Crap, I guess since I missed the end of the month, the earliest I'm likely to see it in a build state is some time in January probably with an end of February delivery

The quality of axles we get from Dana sometimes are absolutely amazing. We've had to send so many skids back or back-charged them it's rediculous. Not to mention the speed that they can output has been holding production back at some points.

Ordered 14 November.. We'll see when it finally gets here. Supposed to be built after the first of the year. Light came on about the axle just a bit too late...one day too late to be specific.

If things are running as smoothly as we hope, you could get your JEEP could be received by your dealer by the 26th of Dec. I ordered on Nov 3 and mine arrived at the dealer in NY on Dec 12.
