The gears out of a D44 will not fit your D30. I would imagine that he whole axle would bolt right up if you got it from another JK or from Mopar.

WVUJeeper is right the gears won't match up. A D44 will bolt up right to the X no problem. You just have to get the D44. If you do it yourself you can get a D44 of another JK'er for probably around 2 grand. To have someone else install I have no idea.

Quadratec (and Jeep Dealers) sell a front D44 for $3000, plus another $100 for the wiring harness & switch pod, plus freight shipping charges. So for a brand new D44 you would be looking at around $3500 not including install. Used ones would be cheaper, but hard to find.

The install would not be terribly difficult since it would be a direct bolt-on but would take 3-4 hours labor.

yes it will come with the locker. You don't have to wire the lockers together. Hell you don't even have to get the switch pod, and can just run the single locker with a simple toggle switch.

and as 2005x mentioned- you'll need to have matching gears. The Rubi gears are 4.10.

I'm one of the lucky ones that has an X with 4.10's ('07 auto). So for me it would be a simple swap. But if you don't have an '07 auto or '07 tow package, you'll need to re-gear

It costs around $1000 for labor to regear. Re-gearing requires special tools/instruments. So you can't just do it in your garage. You have to pay someone.

You can pay anywhere from $150-500 per axle to regear it and it depends on who does it. Chain stores like 4wheel parts tend to charge the most.

2007, 4 door, powered by a minivan engine, locked and riding on 35's.
