There is metal underneath that extends out 7"- 10"... You can buy a set of caps for it so you don't have razor sharp metal exposed.

I used a cutting wheel on an angle grinder because I didn't have a metal blade for my sawzall.

Here are end caps by Vertically Driven Products (VDP). The design looks similar to the stock bumper ends and a little less boxy than the ones from Rough Country.

I used the ones from Oris and it was an easy install. Saw Zaw with a metal blade worked fine, but buy 2 just in case, I broke one and had to run back out to Home Depot.

I just cut mine off even and made an end plate. Its a stubby now, rather then a mid width. I used a 4" mini grinder and cut off wheel very carefully.

Did you make the end-plate out of metal or plastic; and, more importantly do you have any pictures of it, as I may be interested in giving this a shot?

ripped the plastic off, cut crush cans off and the angle pieces off the metal bumper with my grinder, then, just bought a piece of steel to fit over top. looks awesome. no sharp edges. little primer and paint. whoolah!
$20 for steel plate on top

:cheers :

Yes I just formed a piece of sheet metal to fit just inside the plastic. I pre-drilled the sheet metal then painted with bedliner. Fasted with black 3/16" pop rivets.
