Cruise control not working

Hey jeepers!

I got a question for you guys. I bought my jeep from dealership and I never bothered to test the cruise control while I was there. I really don't want to go back and talk to them. The control button on and off doesn't even turn on in the dashboard. What fuse do I need to check or what do you think is wrong? It looks like it's factory connected but I'm not really sure exactly how to turn it on or how to make it work.

I am planning a trip from Edmonton to Quebec. I would like to enjoy the cruise control on the prairies.

Thanks for the help!

I got a 2011 wrangler sport that coming home from the dealership the cruise control worked fine. A few weeks later though it began working intermittently. As in the on/off button would only actually turn the system on/off when it was in the right mood.

The warranty fixed it for me I think *knocks on wood* it took them 4 tries though. Whatever the hell was wrong I think they finally fixed, but it seemed to be a problem that kept coming up. Right now it has worked for about a solid month.

I suspect this is of no help though because my cruise control is buttons on the steering wheel, and that you are out of warranty. Plus yours is not working at all rather than intermittently.

I found it tough to find much information on cruise control issues when I looked long ago, therefore I am giving you the best of my knowledge, and letting ya know your not alone.

Yeah, it's so hard to find information on cruise control for JK's.

I don't know what I'm going to do. My ship date for the army has been pushed back to December 10. I think I'll have to be doing a cross country trip without the cruise control then.

Factory CC is pretty simple.

Three wires go from the cc switch to the pcm through the clock spring.

Continuity check between the CC switch connector and the:

Purple /Orange
Orange /Purple
Purple /Brown

At the C2 horn ring connector. Clock spring is the most likely cause followed by the switch.

All JK's are capable of CC, regardless if delivered with it.
