CB radios & the JK ....

I just spent the better part of 2hrs. looking up and reading about CB radios . Most of the posts are quite old so....What are you guys running with ? I obviously am not CB savy and just want a small CB that I can leave in the JEEP . Are those cheapy kits OK ? Which is the better bang for the buck a Midland or Uniden ? Are the Cobras with the everything on the handset any good ? Is it that important to get the side bands ? Any answers would be appreciated and helpful ( except for the smartassed ones of course ) Thanks .....

Midland 1001z is half the cost of uniden520 and has the same features, both are good radios. More important is a good antenna that is properly tuned.

Most truckstops will carry the midland. The firestick II has an adjustable tip for easy tuning, I'd go that route. I'm running a wilson flex and love it on the trails, adjustable tip and very flexy.

I needed to save room so I went with the Cobra 75 WX ST and Liberty Antenna with Custom Mount. It works great and takes up almost no room!

I don't think any of the above CB's will do you wrong, but I've been using COBRA, for a VERY LONG time and thats all I use

This one is the COBRA MOD 29 LTD BT

It has a bunch of additions and the Blue Thooth, my wife uses on the road

Pretty cool, with the Firestik 4' antenna

This is the one that I run.
ARIZONA ROCKY ROAD ANTENNA MOUNTS FOR JEEP WRANGLER, UNLIMITED AND LIBERTY

It is a nice mount and I like supporting a fellow jeeper with a small "garage" business.
