Can I put a canoe on top of my Unlimited?

I'm still waiting for my '10 Unlimited Sport to come in...but just wondering if anyone here throws a canoe on top? I used to be able to tie a canoe to my '97 Wrangler, with the top down, no problem, and I'm hoping it's just as easy now.

Yeah, I've had a sit-on-top tied up there with no top top on and I've had both it and my 18ft sea kayak up there on my warrior rack.

I put my heavy 16' Fiberglass canoe on top of the Fiberglass shell on my old pickup truck... that old top wasn't as strong than the top on my Unlimited.

Even after years of hauling that boat, I never had a single crack using a set of 4 foam blocks under the boat. I don't think you will have any issues as long as you distribute the load.

I carry my kayak on top topless all the time. I just put a foam pool noodle across the windshield.
