Anyway to get more bang for your buck w/ the A/C?
I mean, it blows decently, and air is cold, but I've had past cars where you'd need a jacket if you angled the vents right towards you.
Any changes / mods one can do to get a little extra on those 95+ degree days?

Drive nekkid. Or install a misting system in the Jeep and drive with the doors off.
But please, don't drive with the doors off if you also drive nekkid.

I don't think so. Do you turn it to the recirculate setting. That will help. The a/c in my 10 Rubi freezes me out. I've yet to use the high blower setting.

You could throw a gauge set on it and see if it has a full charge and operating efficiently.

My 12 has frozen me out in the hot muggy Florida weather we have been having. It takes it 5-10 minutes but it gets pretty cold pretty fast.

Does soft top vs hard top matter? It blows cold air, and it helps when I got the drivers vent and both middle vent hitting me square in the face. But it doesn't feel like it's staying in the vehicle.
I'll get a guage and check it. The A/C was recharged 6,000 miles ago. How often does it need changed?

unless you have a leak, late model refrigerant should last 150,000 miles +

The hard tops do help but they also heat soak pretty bad. There's insulating panels that make a huge difference in the hard top insulating noise and heat. The soft tops don't insulate well but I have to turn my AC down when I use it and I only have the safari top. Since it's only in the mid 80's and a max speed limit of 55 here I just put the windows down unless my wife is in the car.

can you use any ac charge can from autozone, kragen or even walmart? my ac in my 2010 rubi lags on cold, lately its been in the 100s and even on highways on long drives i feel the heat radiating and overpowering ac. next step is a clear 97% uv film on windshield to keep heat out but have to replace cracked windshield.

Yes, they're just R134a so anything will work. Just get the setups with the gauge on the bottle and you'll do better than what you've got but not the same as gettin the pressure just right.

A/C systems should not need to be re-charged. If it has to be that means there's a leak. Auto parts stores sell re-charge kits because when some a/c systems get old they begin to leak. That type of fix is just a band aide. It will not stop the leak or get better. If you want cold air it has to be professionally repaired.
