I'll bet you cash money it doesn't take that long.
If the bluetec GC does well, we could see a CRD JK for MY 2008. 2009 would be an even more conservative guess.

If they were even just thinking about the CRD for as early as MY2008, I think there would already be rumors about it. I knew about the 3.0L bluetec in the XK and WK (WK gets it in '08) and the end of the US spec 2.8L KJ last fall. So far all I've heard about a CRD JK is that it's not going to happen.
From what I've been told about a CRD JK, the 3.0L V6 doesn't fit in the engine bay, and it won't bolt up the auto trans used in the JK, and the 545RFE trans used in the XK/WK can't be used in the JK due to weight (this is info I got last fall). Yes, the Gladiator was built with a CRD, but it was the european 2.8L. We'll see the Gladiator in production before a diesel.

Same sentiments. When I buy JK I'll be sticking with SWB 2 door. I must say that 4-door unlimited looks much better than TJ Unlimited, but want to retain the SWB advantage in 4-wheeling.

Did that ...
Just going to make some bumpers here at work for it, put a 3" lift in it and fill the wheel-wells - its just a street Jeep
I think I'll put a winch on the front just so when I am driving back and forth from BC in the winter I can "rescue" people who are stuck

Ken has a couple of Hemi's in his back yard. Saw them there last time I was hangin' at his shop.

I have a TJ Sahara I'll be keeping for a long time to come because it's my workhorse (plow my driveway) and my dog's favorite vehicle. Daily driver is a BMW and I'll be getting rid of it to buy a SUV. Then the 4dr JK came out and looks like I'll swap the BMW for the JK and will have 2 jeeps. Life could not be better!

I was going to buy a 350Z summer of '03, but I needed something that could tow ATV's and snowmobiles, so I bought my TJ instead. My combo would be 1 Z and 1 Jeep, not 2 Jeeps. I like the JK, I just don't know if I could ever bring myself to trade my TJ in. Definitely looking at adding a Z to the garage in the next couple years, though.

I would go with another jeep. that way you can modify the TJ even more. My mom has a 350Z and it's fun to drive. I wouldn't want to drive it every day, i would have too many tickets.

If you are going turn your current DD jeep into a trail only rig, consider buying a new DD that has the ability to tow your jeep to the trail. Once you have a dedicated trail rig sooner or later you are going to want to trailer it somewhere. And as soon as you do that once you will begin to realize that you can visit the trails in the magazines in a weekend trip...

Glad to see you guys keeping your other machines. I will never get rid of my Defender, but felt a bit crazy having a Wrangler and a D90 in the garage. I hope there will be no sibling rivalry
