Did you have to have your jeep re-aligned after you installed the lift? Also how much did it effect your MPG.

So far mileage is about the same. I haven't driven it enough to know. The alignment feels great but for peace of mind I'm planning to take it to an alignment shop just to be sure. I'd rather spend a little money on finding out the alignment is just fine than to find out later it wasn't and have to fix something that broke. I did have to recenter the steering wheel. That was really easy.

Front Bumper

From day 1 (May 8th, 2013) when I bought my JKU I've been looking at and trying to decide which front bumper to buy. At first I was looking at the XRC M.O.D bumpers by SmittyBilt but all that has changed. All I can say is that Smitty could have had more of my business but they have failed in one little tiny area. CUSTOMER SUPPORT! I'll keep my Smitty rails, but nothing more.

So my search continued and I found the Warn Elite Series. Wow! I love the look of these! Plus I know they will fit a winch (Warn of course) if I decide to buy one down the road. For about $700 this looks like my next mod! Next year... I need to build up my toy budget some more first.

You'll be gaining some serious weight with that front bumper. The Warn representatives didn't even run it on their JK during the 2011-13 Ultimate Aventures.

Okay, I guess that brings up a valid point. How much weight is too much weight up front? I see people loading up winches and power units with huge bumpers and stingers all the time. How much does all that weigh?

I've emailed WARN asking them how much the bumper weighs.

This is just my preference, but I would keep my front bumper 50 lbs or less. That Warn bumper is probably over 100 lbs.

I don't really understand bug-out concepts (I think I would be more inclined to "bug-in")....BUT....as far as water goes.....there is a nice mod that allows you to store water in the stock rear bumper. I would have done it myself, but I installed a rear view camera in my bumper.

I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sold on the idea of using a gasoline powered vehicle in the event that the world ends. Gas has a shelf life and isn't easy to make on your own. I'm sure you could set up a still and make some sort of alcohol for it, but I don't think the computers would like it too much.

Responses from Warn Customer Service

Yesterday I asked Warn Customer Service two questions about the WARN ELITE SERIES FRONT BUMPER FOR THE JEEP WRANGLER JK. They responded today.

Question 1:
Will the stock 2013 JKU fog lamps fit into the recessed fog lamp port?

Answer:
There was a change to the factory fog light in 2013. The brackets we include with the Elite series bumper do not accommodate the new design light. At this time an aftermarket light, such as our W350F, will work.

Question 2:
How much does this weigh? Both versions with and without the grill guard.

Answer:
The Elite bumpers will weigh 111lbs without the guard and with it picks up a extra 4lbs.

This really is an illness isn't it? I have more stuff ordered. Billet Grille Inserts from Drake, a shorter antenna, MOPAR door entry guards, more grab handles.

Have to agree with you here~! Good build so far. Keep us updated on your progress. FYI: if you are looking for a light-weight bumper, you should look at aluminum bumpers. Under Cover Fabworks, Poison Spyder, etc make a line of aluminium bumpers.
