The rear is done, the front is almost done. Dinner break and gatorade - I'm an old programmer rediscovering REAL WORK! YUK!

I really learned a lot about the underside of my Jeep. This is good, but I swear the next time I say hey, lets install "blah" someone slap me and "say take it to a mechanic!" I am a programmer not a wrencher! j/k.... Okay - I'm just whining because I'm tired, hungry and sore - where's a Snickers bar?

Weird. I ordered and installed 2.5 lifts in my 2010 and 2012 and both came with the axle tower.

Did you order the kit with the shocks or without?

That explains it. They include the axle side trackbar bracket when you buy the kit with shocks. I bought the kit without shocks that include the shock adapters. I guess they don't think that kit warrants the extra bracket?

Nicely done...I'm running that same TF 2.5 coil kit, with the shocks, came with the axle-side rear trackbar bracket. I took everything apart and added the 3/4" Daystar coil spacers for some added boost about a year ago. I wanted to add (and may swap at some point) the 1" TeraFlex spacers, but the price for the Daystars was unbeatable. My tire wheel combo is the AEV Pintler's and 315/70 MTZ's, works great...Pic attached.

If it's a true Bug Out vehicle you should consider the AEV rear bumper, water storage- what a cool concept. Love the build and concept, keep it coming.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I've spent my toy budget for this year already. But I do want to do bumpers, underside armor and a few more things.

Not yet - thats more money that is not in the bank at this point. I think I've spent my wad of cash for this year.

Good stuff man, I dig the color, though maybe because it reminds me of my own. I'll keep a following on this thread because it looks like you're heading in the same direction as I want to when I start my own build in earnest. One quesiton though, why are you planning on 33's and not 35's? I remember reading that with a 2.5" you can run 35's if you swap/ cut down the fenders

A few reasons.
  1. Practicality: This is my daily driver
  2. Expense: They cost a lot more. I have to see what I can afford at the time.
  3. Need: We just don't have the off-road options in MN. We do have snow.

All good reasons, just wanted to see if there was a technical reason that I'd overlooked that made 33's better than 35's. Are those the smittybuilt rock rails on there? They look good.
