Bestop Mesh Safari Bikini Top installed

got the hardtop off and put on my mesh safari bikini top from Bestop. makes the sun more bearable here in the desert, while still giving you open air. the fitment is good everywhere except on the center door rails (B pillars i think you guys call them?). i think they could have done a better job there, but it's still functional. here's a lot of pictures from various angles and lighting conditions.

Looks great! I did the same mod-- only not mesh-- and waited a few weeks before getting the door frames. Pay the extra and get them. They make all the difference in the world.

do you have a link or more info? i didn't even know these things existed til ya mentioned it. from what little i could find searching, it sounds like they are plastic pieces that come with the dual top option, and i only had the hard top. is it bad to drive around without them?

I've been considering picking one of these up myself. Let me ask you this, how big are the mesh holes in it? I'm considering purchasing one bceause I carry my kayak on a congo cage rack on the top and have sand/mud falling off my kayak while loading. Do you think it is a fine enough mesh to catch some of this from falling inside?

Not bad to drive around without them at all. I also have only the hardtop, so I had to go out and buy the pieces. Yes, they are the ones that come with the dual top, or soft top. I don't recall how much I paid, but they completely seal the top, and stretch it much tighter than you can do with just the velcro straps.

Now-- without the door surrounds, it's still a great top! Don't worry, if you don't want to get the door surrounds. I just really liked it better when I went that route.

without....

individual granules would get through, but probably not the clumps. i estimate the holes are about 3mm x 3mm squares.
