I will make some accommodation for local slang, etc. but generally speaking that is not correct. Go to www.tirerack.com or similar site and look for the "rim" selection.

And yes, anything that is round and rolls is a wheel, in the broad definition. But we are talking about the specific parts in an automotive application. ;-)

Wow.. Me not thinking about what I was saying while I was saying it is creating such a controversy haha. Even though it may not *technically* be correct, I agree with rubber being the tire and the metal part being the rim together making the wheel of a car.
