With the money train still flowing into this rig, why not just go for the glory. 6" long arm on 35"'s, belly up kit, redo gears. Play with the big boys.

Those are fun to look at, or when I was single, pick up women with, but their so worthless off the concrete. I use to drive a huge *** chevy. Only thing it was good for was turning heads.

What about just hot dipped galvinized?

If you paint them, you'll have to "touch" them up everytime you use them. if that's not a problem, I'd do red.

Get a steering box skid plate (red) and do your draglink/track bar red too!

Mine is daystar I believe. Both have the same hardware. You can do it yourself in a garage with a floor jack and a couple hours. I did it the dumb way and paid my buddies $400 bones to do it. After that I learned....i can do it on my own.

...yeah, sold my hardtop yesterday for $1200. $200 to the wife and $1000 to the jeep.

just trying to decide where i want to drop it. liner or lift?

...i need some info on which lift to get. i'm looking at the poly performance synergy stage 1. it comes w/ all sorts of shiz that the other ones don't; for instance, rough country spring suspension lift (poly is $1400 vs rough country ~$400)

do i need all the extra shiz that the poly performance includes?

this is what's in the poly kit:

PPM-8004 - JK 9/16" Control Arm Cam Bolt Kit
PPM-8063-XX - JK Front Lift Springs
PPM-8064-XX - JK Rear Lift Springs
PPM-80XX - JK Front Bump Stop Spacer Kit
PPM-80XX - JK Rear Bump Stop Spacer Kit
PPM-8061 - JK Front Track Bar
PPM-8056 - JK Rear Track Bar Bracket
PPM-8083 - JK Front Brake Line Relocation Kit
PPM-8084 - JK Rear Brake Line Relocation Kit
PPM-8085 - JK Rear Sway Bar Drop Bracket Kit
PPM-8059 - JK Front Sway Bar Links
PPM-8081 - JK Front Sway Bar Relocation Kit

it seems like i could piece together this kit for far less. if you agree, help me figure out who i need to go to for this stuff...IF THIS STUFF IS REALLY NEEDED.

b_c

i posted the above quote in the "houston get together" thread, but i think this topic should be in here too...(just in case)

...so can anyone help me out?

I'm not stalking you but... get the rough country. ask N2Rock, that's what he's running. he can give you a real world take on it. plus he has a 2" BL.

stalker!

but what's the deal w/ all the extra stuff in poly's kit???

...do i need those components or not?

i need more input

i'm not trying to cut-corners or save money. i want to do this right and understand why i'm doing it (i.e. what are the advantages/disadvantages of getting them vs not?).

then there's this "optional" list, too:

Optional Components:
PPM-8062 - JK Rear Adjustable Track Bar
PPM-8006 - JK Steering Stabilizer Relocation Kit
PPM-8051 - JK Front Lower Control Arms
PPM-8052 - JK Rear Lower Control Arms
PPM-8090 - JK Rear Track Bar Bracket w/ Cam Bolt

paging N2Rock... you are needed in the checkout lane. N2 to the checkout lane please.

quick breakdown...

bumpstops are not needed as the 2.2 shocks have internal stops (i read it on the internet so it must be true)
breakline brackets, i believe, come with the kit as does the new rear sway bar links.
if you don't use the the trackbar relocation brackets or the adjustable trac bars then your axels will be shifted (front to one side, rear to the other) by about 1/8". welcome to the club, as most lifted guys run like this.
don't need the control arms until you go up higher, but you'll also need a new drive shaft too.
haveing not bought this kit myself...yet i can' only speak (or type)from what i've read from others. so i could be completely wrong.

lift is on hold for 9 days...

...i don't want to jinx myself so i'm not going to say what i've got going on, but if it happens you all are going to poop your pants. stay tuned!

as for the lift, i'd still like to hear a tech/mech savvy person has to say about the lift and how all the components listed above make (or don't make) a difference.

Not knowing what size lift you're going with, some of these things may or may not need.

Quote:
PPM-8004 - JK 9/16" Control Arm Cam Bolt Kit
- Judging by this, I'm assuming you're going with a 3.5" or higher kit. If so, I would skip the cam bolts and go with adjustable control arms. More expensive yes, but will serve you better in the long run

Quote:
PPM-8061 - JK Front Track Bar
doesn't indicate that it is adjustable. If not, I would skip this and get an adjustable one. Again- it will serve you better in the long run

Quote:
PPM-8056 - JK Rear Track Bar Bracket
- forget the bracket and get an adjustable trackbar

Basically I'm telling you to go ahead and get all the optional components

Quote:
Optional Components:
PPM-8062 - JK Rear Adjustable Track Bar
PPM-8006 - JK Steering Stabilizer Relocation Kit
PPM-8051 - JK Front Lower Control Arms
PPM-8052 - JK Rear Lower Control Arms
PPM-8090 - JK Rear Track Bar Bracket w/ Cam Bolt
If you're got the money to do it right the first time, do it. If you don't have the money, get what you can afford and then upgrade components over time (that is what I've been doing)

for details and info on our JK's, check out
