Automatic JK Transmission Problems POLL

I have heard a lot about JK auto transmission problems. I thought using the poll would be a great way to see if those having problems are isolated or if the problem is much bigger. I just purchased one, and am a little worried with all i have read.

If you have 2,500 miles or more, please vote. If you voted problems, then add a short description of your specific problem so we can compare.

Thanks

I've not heard a peep about transmission issues. I'd love to know what you've heard that inspired this poll.

FYI - 20,000 miles and no issues.

Cheers!

My only complaint is and has been that it is only a 4 speed. A 5 speed would of made the underpowered engine seem not so underpowered.

07 JK Rubi Unlimited Auto (~12,000 miles) - I voted for "constant problem" because I have any issue with torque converter shuddering when encountering any resistance in reverse (such as a speed bump or any incline). I've taken it to the dealer a few times and gotten a variety of responses and reflashes done, but nothing that's cured the problem. That said, I have no issues with the transmission under normal driving conditions (other than reverse).

No problems here 12,000 (knocks on wood).

I feel bad for this guy on another board near me who got his tranny/tc warranty voided for no reason.

I cannot provide links to everything because i was just browsing around reading. I found many people that are having constant problems with the tranny shuddering between shifts, some so bad they cannot stand to drive it. You can see some of this on JK-Forum.com. I posted the same poll on JK-forum.com and I am happy to say the results are very close so far to the results here. It seems that about 85% are happy with no problems so far. We will keep it going and see what happens. I can say I am happy with mine so far, no issues, but I only have 308 miles on it so far. I think I will go for a drive right now...bye.
