hee hee you crack me up. didn't mean to get you all riled up.... in fact I wear my seatbelt 99.9% of the time. it is not that difficult (and no i'm not morbidly obese or any kind of obese - haha) to buckle it for a 1/4 mile trip down my surburban residential road, hell even just to drive next door for whatever reason, or to drive into my backyard to put the hardtop on/off! the little red light on the dash is fine for me.

Hi Jeep info center guy - thanks for the idea but I don't believe the EVIC exists on my wrangler. the gas guage is on the left of the steering wheel and the temp guage is on the right. there does no appear to be any visible EVIC display. let me know if I am going blind. Thanks for the effort.

Here is a post from anther forum.and it works.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Figured out the DIY method.

- shut the doors and turn the key from "off" to "on" (stop turning the key at the point just before the engine starts). Do this five times. On the fifth time the key should be in the "on" position, push up on the power door lock.

I'm pretty sure this is what I did. All I know is that now when I open the drivers door, all 4 doors unlock. Good luck. It would be nice if there was a chime telling you the code has changed. You won't know if it worked until you go for a drive.

In another post he said he thought he pushed up on the power dool lock button twice. He thinks one push will disable the autolock feature, and two pushes keeps the auto locks, but allows all doors to unlock when you open the drivers door from the inside.

Haven't tried it myself.

Oohh could you share the seat belt thing. That ding drives me nuts, in drive thru banks, restaurants, pulling up to the post office, moving cars around the garage etc... I did a search and couldn't find the secret seatbelt chime disconnect for the JK.

Thanks

I have just changed the FAQ to reflect the Key/Lock sequence. Can someone who has tried it please confirm the information?

Thank you

I don't remember how to do it off the top of my head, but it's in the owners manual.
