1st off my rig is a 2010 JKU Rubicon automatic running 42's on 60's with 5.38 gearing. Its not a DD, 90% trail only rig / 10% Joy ride.
Its going into BOR sometime in the next few weeks to get a Hemi installed, my question is should I go ahead and get an Atlas 2 or 4 spd installed at the same time?
I have heard both sides so far, one that my stock transfer case will become my new weak link and I should change it out. I have also been told that the previous comment is BS and that the rubi transfer case can handle it no big deal.
So if the general opinion is to go Atlas, then the question is 2 or 4 spd? I have never had anything other than a stock TC in any Jeep I have owned. My understanding is that going to a 2spd would be almost pointless, however I have been told that a 4 spd is a real pain in the arse, hard to get the right gear / always shifting blah blah blah..
Opinions / Help / Knowledge anything to help me make the right choice???
