There is nothing to worry about! This is common with every new program that comes out. Most of the bugs right now with JK are with Diesel and the UK models. There are going to be typical first year program bugs that are not uncommon to any automotive manufacturer.

Never buy a new vehicle that just came out I think. Let them work the bugs out first.

That Dodge Nitro is ugly. If Jeep starts sharing its platforms with other Chrysler products I think it will lose its market value. Jeep won't be able to say "there's only one".

Wrangler platform is not shared - and, honestly, who gives a rat's butt about other Jeeps nowdays? If not for the Wrangler, you will always be better off getting a Toyota or Nissan.

Wrangler is the Jeep.

Wrangler is the Jeep.
The only advantage of a non-wranger Jeep is that you can take them to events like Camp Jeep that you couldn't take a Toyota to.

Since they're building (or supposed to be building...) the JK in a new plant, they should have continued TJ production in the old one to fill the gap until the 07's were 100% ready. Just my 0.02.

Well, one of the theories on the slow rate of my production for the JK, in addition to working out any bugs, is to give the dealers more time to unload the TJs that are still not moving off of the lot. If that is true, building more TJs might have just made it worse.

It's been said many times here, that it's a risk to buy a redesigned model, yet alone in a brand new factory. Both of those factors together would make me want to wait a year or so.

Yup, There is still PLENTY of 06 inventory out that at Rock bottom Prices. If you want a brand new Wrangler NOW, you can get it pretty much any way you want. If you want a JK, you will just have to wait a bit longer.

I want to second this. I have been advised by an engineer for the JK to hold off on our order for another month and a half. They are having some bad fitment issues according to him.

So while I was out looking at stuff, I found a Rubicon parked in the back of a lot still for sale. I got 3500 off the employee pricing and rebates. The dealership wanted to cut thier losses.. So, if you want an 06, start looking, and find the guys who want them gone.
