Anyone running these Tinted Signal Lights?

07 08 09 JEEP JK WRANGLER SMOKED SIGNAL+SIDE LIGHTS 4x4 : eBay Motors (item 220548577463 end time Feb-28-10 19:47:23 PST)

Looking to replace my running lights with tinted ones but don't really trust the tinted spray paint. Anyone had any experience with these???

Buy Them

I bought the clear ones of ebay....they arrived and are seem to be good quality. I had a pair on my TJ since day 1. I have not gotten around to installing them, since I blew my knee out two weeks ago skiing. Will eventually install them, but probally not until march.

Price is a bit high, but hey that's not unusual for JK parts. My concern is how dark are they really? I bought the Recon LED turns, and they were not anywhere near as dark as pictured in the add and ended up just tinting my factory ones. So, if these actually are nice and black as opposed to just "smoked", then I'd say go for it.

If you get them, post up pics for everyone. And have fun removing the side markers. lol

Found these on ebay as well. It comes with the tinted fog lamps as well..... I know I'm going to do the signal and marker lights and I'm up in the air on the fog lights. Extra $110 is a ton though for fog lights when mine still work fine......

I like that idea but kinda steep on the price like you said, maybe see if you can pickup a set of oem ones that someone is trying to sell cheaper and useing the nightshades on it

Pulled the trigger on the smoked signals (not the fog lamps). I'll post pics when I get them installed.

just do it yourself.

This is what you need
1 can of VHT nite shade spray paint
1 can of clearcoat

The VHT spray really is a better option. You can control exactly how dark you want it based on how many coats you apply, and if you do it right, and clear coat it, you'll look as good as any smoked lens you could buy.

GE2 has done it a few times I think, and they always look factory when done.

Just got them installed. They look bad a$$ (in my opinion). Pretty straight forward install and seem to be of pretty good quality.

I used those... The bulbs that came with them caused them to bubble out some... But it does not look like damage was done to the actual plastic and it stopped once it got to a certain level... Has not changed since and actually looks like it was made that way... Kinda looks cool.

It all depends on how dark you want it. The spray goes on very thin, so light coats are the key. I think I did 3 coats of VHT and 2 coats of clearcoat on mine.

ok, ive seen many people use the VHT on brake lights and alot of the times they look crappy, like almost a "matte" or grayish kind of effect compared to professional methods that car shops do, is this because they likely didnt use a clear coat?
