Anybody running BFG AT 315/70R17?

Pics please.......thank you..
Ordered these today, BFG 315/70R17 for my 2012 JK, 2" lift. They will be on 9" XD Cranks with a 0 offset, 5" backspace. I checked with the dealer and 2 tire shops, one actually took the time to take measurements to verify the fit.

Installed. 315/70R17 or 34.4X12.4R17.
Excellent fit. Lots of clearance, no rubbing, quieter, smoother and I just plain like 'em. May have to trim the pinch seams. Spare just barely clears the bumper, I can get a piece of paper in there and that's about it, nice and snug, used daystar bump stops. So far so good.

5" backspacing are you sure that wont rub? Seems to me that 4.7" is the max you should go (based off the sticky on this forum)

Yup. Wouldn't have done it if I wasn't sure. Not sure what 'sticky' you are referring to. All pre-measured and verified pre and post installation. Checked it out on the ground, on the lift, did some wheeling, 2 onboard, all ok.

That one. Unless i misunderstood, but you are giving experienced results so I don't doubt it. When I posted I didn't think you were running the exact setup.

Thanks for the info.

Keep in in mind that BFG,s run small and they probably fit fine on wheels with 5" backspacing.

In height. My 35X12.50X17 with weight on wheels measure at 33.75" when new. With wear they'll be a chubby 33" tire.

Interesting. Mine measure in at 34.4x12.4x17 measured at the tire shop and in my garage, on a flat level surface, with weight of course. So actually they are running bigger than the stated 34 they re supposed to be. It stands to reason that all tires will get smaller with wear.

Mine measured under 34" when setting it up procal to correct speedo, closer to 33.5.
I believe the AEV wheels have a little more than 5" backspace and just barely rubbed on plastic air dam (trim the corners and good to go).
This photo is outside tire shop immediately after install, 2" spacer lift on jeep.

Almost all offroad tires have in the past run a bit smaller then the numbers. 38" Interco sx are like 35s etc. Its only been recent that they are starting to match better. Got the same spec for the 315s. There are also a couple different ways to measure a tire and this has always caused confusion when discussing actual hight.

Yup, I'll bet there are more than a couple of different ways to measure tires, despite it being a fairly straight forward process, and several differing ways to interpret the results depending on who's doing it. All in all, I really do like these tires and that's what its all about, being happy with our choices.
KCCO!
