Aluminum or Steel wheels.

What is better to have if I go down to the coast a lot. Which one is a better overall wheel?

Aluminum for the coast. Less corrosion from the salt.

I have steel- I rarely go to the coast, plus I do a lot of rocks. So inexpensive steelies are my choice- when I rock rash them, I don't care because I didn't pay much for them.

Aluminum.... Lighter, less corrosive, more expensive. They will corrode, but not as easily, keep them waxed to protect them from the elements.

Steel looks really cool. Aluminum is way more functional for most people on here who will off road their jeep only 6 percent of its life. Steel has the ability to bend back when you rash em up, aluminum just cracks and is a bit more pricey. But I bet you will never break aluminum wheel. Personally, I like the steel wheel look better......my jeep origin start with Cj's, and steelie wagon style wheels which I love. I live as close to the coast as yu can get, in the winter they aint scarred to put salt on the roads around here. I never really had any problems regarding rust on steelies that a bit of steel wool couldnt sort right out. I think my JK 17's look pretty lame, little big for me.

I have a house on the coast and drive on the beach regularly for 2 years now, only rust Ive seen on my cheap steelies is where I scratched them up while offroading. Shouldnt have a problem with either if you have some steelies that you have your eyes on. Aluminum will pit, but wont rust. Also are lighter but more expensive.
