No, You get the tax advantage. Buy without trade-in pay sales tax on 24k. Buy with trade-in pay sales tax on difference. Dealers make most of their money on financing. You can get the same deal up front with or without financing always negotiate cash price, don't let them switch you to payment discussion. Check with your bank or online for the interest rate you can get. Then don't let dealer charge you higher than that. when we bought ours in December I knew my interest rate. Dealer tried to sign me up for a loan 3 points higher, when I told them I'd be back from bank with a check for the jeep, they dropped the rate to match. Had I signed the higher loan through them they would have made more on the financing than the sale.

I paid 20k plus tax title and license. So I think when all was said and done it was around 22k. Mine only has the S package with the larger tires and satellite radio, AC, basically a bunch of stuff I don't use. I can't tell you the last time I turned on the radio, or the AC.
I personally see what you have there is pretty good for pricing.
Always negotiate total price, not monthly payment. I went in to buy a '12 that had no options that I saw online...that was apparently sold and just hadn't been removed from the website (riiiiight), so I told them if they gave me the other one they had for the same price (which had the hardtop, auto, and AC) I'd buy it. They agreed, and I gave them an interest rate to beat and they actually did (with US Bank).
Edit: The price was like $22k, but after taxes and crap it ended up a bit higher. :/

No powerball here? How am I supposed to finance the mods?!?
'12 Sport...miss my YJ for all the wrong reasons though
I am also about to purchase a new JK and I would highly recommend going to edmunds.com to check the invoice price of your vehicle. Their site is a bit of pain but you can look at the invoice prices on new cars to make sure the dealer is not ripping you off. Also check to see if the company you work for gets you a discount on Chrysler vehicles. I work for GE and have an automatic discount so all I have to negotiate is my trade value. It makes me really happy to walk into the dealership with a little bit of upper hand.
Also you might want to be careful with that 8 speed auto if you are going to lift your jeep. Not sure of the dimensions on it but if you are thinking 2 door it might cause some driveline clearance issues. Hopefully the aftermarket guys are already getting prepped for that.
I paid 23,500 against a 27k sticker. Pretty good, don't let them soak you of the warranty. I paid 1350$ for the 7 yr 100 k mile.
How did you get a 7 year 100k warranty? I purchased a 6 year 100k warranty and it cost me $1800, I just called Chrysler when I saw your post to see if I got ripped off and they told me a 6 year 100k warranty would be $2300. I wasn't aware that they offered anything over a 6 year warranty other than the lifetime option.....1350 seems pretty fantastic???
