Look, if you care about 0-60mph on tarmac, don't buy a Wrangler, if however you care about 0-5 mph across boulders, you won't be buying an X-Terra.

I also had a hemi in the durango when it came out. Quite frankly it was a nice vehicle, but I wasn't impressed with the motor at all. I got rid if it and bought a yukon with the smaller motor which I liked better. I agree that a hemi would be awsome in a JK if that is what you are looking for, but that is no reason to bash the 3.8. I have no problem getting to or staying at highway speed. I didn't buy it to go fast, I bought it because I liked the overall improvements jeep made to it. It rides better, quiter, better mpg, imo better offroad than any previos wrangler and I owned almost every other one from V8's to 4cyl. I like everything about the jk except getting into the back seat. And personnallt even if they offered a hemi in it, I would have still gotten the 3.8. But that's my opinion and I bought exactly what I was looking for.
