Wow, that looks fantastic! I was going to ask why you didn't keep all that stuff in the back, but then I saw your passengers.

That rack looks really functional and reliable. How long did it take to install it?

That does look great. How easy is to fold out of the way to put the top up/down?

Your Jeep looks great! What was the cost of this rack? Does it require any drilling, or mods to the body, to install? Where did you get it? Upon making my first trip to Home Depot, after purchasing the JK Unlimited soft top, I was suddenly aware that I was without the means to fasten anything to the roof.

Yeah, that's cool! Is it moveable so you can put up/down the top without taking the rack completely off?

Thanks for the comments, I am loving it!!

To answer some questions:
1) Installation was very easy and straight forward, although it did require drilling into the body. That's never easy in a brand new vehicle, but it was totally worth it. The total install probably took two hours. The four of us (including my wife who is six months pregnant) could never have made that trip with all our gear if not for the rack.

2) The rack does have to be removed to take the top up or down. I built a hoist that I just throw over a convenient tree and I can take it on or off by myself in less than five minutes. With one buddy, it is even easier and faster, no hoist required.

If the rack is loaded and a sudden sleet storm comes up (I'm speaking from experience) I carry a tarp that I just secure over the top real quick and all is good. I suppose that is the case with any loaded rack, though.

3) I paid $600 with tax at 4wheelparts. That was about half of what the other two racks I found cost. Also, I wanted to be able to take the rack off and still be able to use the cross bars for hauling my 18ft/85lb tandem sea kayak. My Yakima kayak mounts fit on the Warrior bars with no problems.

For me, it's perfect. I can leave it completely off, I can use just the cross bars for the boat/lumber/etc, or I have the rack for the bigger trips. When it's not on the Jeep, it just hangs on my garage ceiling above the garage door.

The black and white second pic down looks like it belongs in a lands end or eddie bauer mag, or maybe a promotional jeep ad, I like it, if it were me (which it couldn't be, that guy has more hair up top) I'd frame it.

Without an airdam, it is roughly equivalent to a 747 taking off. With the airdam, it's not too bad. I still hear it, but you can talk inside at a normal level.
