35's on Tailgate tire carrier

Does anyone have experience mounting 35's with spare tire relocation brackets? The ones that mount onto the stock tire carrier on the tail gate. Looking at this option with the spare tire reinforcement kit. Opinions??

You need something to supplement the weight. Check out what Jimbox did. He put something on his rear bumper that the tire rests on.

I have the Teraflex kit on two jeeps and love it. No more shaking sagging or anything. Nice and solid

Check out the RedRock 4x4 Rear Hinged Tire Carrier. It's the same idea as the Teraflex but it's steel instead of aluminum and it ins't adjustable. Let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like a quote!

I went that way to start with but it caused my tailgate to sag and I felt with time it would really damage the gate. I put a Teraflex carrier on and it works great. I highly recommend it.

This does nothing to reinforce your hinges, which is the main concern for large tires.

I just installed the MBRP relocation bracket last week. It's made really well, very solid and precise. I can definitely see my gate being beat up eventually but I'm pretty cautious and gentle on her for that reason. I traced and cut a 1/8" rubber gasket for in between the stock and new bracket to eliminate rattling if I do get movement down the line. We'll see how everything holds up. Can't beat $39 on eBay.

Looks like I'm the 3rd or 4th one in this thread that votes for the TeraFlex system. I have it on our 2013 JK and it's excellent - strong and does the job as designed.

My vote: AEV swing-out for $750. Much more than a stamped metal bracket and bolts, same swing-out functionality. I've got nothing against the Teraflex design EXCEPT the gawd-awful price.

Will the hinges hold up under 33s? Specifically 285/70/17 Duratrac on stock alum wheel.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think 33's should make a difference since the stock tires are 32's
