I realize that these size tires are a little smaller than 35's, but are they still going to be hard on my engine. I do casual driving and a little offloading. Should I still get my gear ratio changed

They won't be hard on the engine but depending on your gearing you may feel a difference. I have the 3.21 gearing and upgraded from the smallest stock tires to the 285/75R16. I noticed most of the difference on the highway. I'm saving my money to regear to 4.56.

Anyone got any pics of what size 285 tires would look like on a jeep

Unreal boys! I like the stocky look the tires give. I'm doin it for sure! Oz did you end up using wheel spacers or am I going to be fine without them?

No wheel spacers for the new wheels which have more backspacing.
