2014 Rubi...Buzzing noise when Bluetooth Connect??

Hey guys I bought a brand new 2014 Rubi with the 730N and when connected to my cell phone (Iphone 5) through the Bluetooth I hear a buzzing or humming sound in the back ground.

It almost sounds like a wire needs to be grounded or distortion from speakers.

Once I am off the call the sound goes away and the radio plays normally???

Thanks!

I was just going to say that. I haven't used the oem inverter enough to notice but I had an aftermarket one that would do that also.

Does anyone know where this could possibly come from?

Does it do it with the key on but the engine off? Can you hear more buzzing with the wipers on?

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I have a 15 wrangler and I get the buzzing sound when I play music through my phone over bluetooth. I have an S5 that music sounds like garbage over bluetooth.....sounds great when its plugged in. I've tried out a buddy's iPhone 6 and my 4th/5th gen ipod and both of them worked great.

Did you ever find anything out on the buzzing issues?

Electronic interference from either the ignition or alternator (or environmental - like a high energy power line) is possible but not likely - Bluetooth is very susceptible to interference with 3g - music mode is very different than voice mode - (basically can interfere with itself as its sending and receiving to both the radio via 2.4 and the cell tower via 2.3) because it operates in the 2.4gHzx83mHz - not square wave so only part of the wave is "masked" by colliding frequencies generated elsewhere.

It really depends on the device (not the radio - the phone) as to how easily it "buzzes". Try unpairing it, pairing a different device into #1, then repairing the first one to number 2, moving the frequency "they agree on"...

And keep in mind - bluetooth standards were changed in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. SO your radio would be ver 4.0 and the iPhone 4.3 (backwards compatibility doesn't always include the features like noise cancellation - just connect ability). BUT - to trouble shoot music interference - turn off your phone's wifi (airplane mode) and try it!

I have much the same issue in setting up a local 3g WiFi... locating either the client or router too close an electrical circuit (or having a circuit intersect the waves) causes data slowing (from "noise" in the signal) - also make sure you aren't placing the phone too close to your speakers! (set a phone next to a speaker and call it - you will hear the buzz start even before the phone starts to ring - and that's whether the speaker is powered or not!).

Thanks jwmbishop, I will try that tomorrow in my jeep.

I just find it very weird because it works fine on any other device (bose soundlink and samsung sound bar). I also thought that it might be an issue with my phone a few weeks ago, so I went to sprint and they ordered me a new phone, but unfortunately the new phone didn't fix the issue.

I will try what you suggested and report back.
